Beyond The Camera-First Assignment!

Introduction

For our fist assignments in Beyond the camera we were told to create a single image that showed some kind of magic or illusion. We had to take some photographs and then put them into Photoshop to edit them.

Research and Inspiration

To come up with an idea for this a just simply Googled "Illusion Photography" and it gave me a whole load of really interesting images but the one i liked the most was quite a common image of peoples laptops that they had made to look see through. This is an example of one of these images and as you can see its pretty cool right?

Making my Image

First thing I did was take a photo of my table with my Laptop screen down as shown here.

Then I put this as I laptop wallpaper so it looked like this

And then a added in the teapot and took a photo. I then put this on Photoshop to edit in some tea and steam to create a more realistic effect.

Final piece

Here is my final piece after I have added the tea, steam and played around with the colour to create a more realistic look.

so,what do you think?

My Reflection

I felt that I learned a lot more about Photoshop and the different ways you can use it when completing this assignment. It gave me the chance to experiment with my ideas and create something professional looking. I enjoyed doing this assignment I enjoy taking photographs and using Photoshop. It showed me that you can create amazing images by using simple techniques together. I will definitely benefit from this as I have a more in depth insight into using Photoshop and other editing software. If I were to improve my image I would have played around with the colours a lot more to make the background blend in with the real table and objects, making it look more transparent.
