Introduction
So, as you know, we now have a brand new TV studio, which is amazing! First off we were put into teams and told to decide on our roles then we were given our first task of doing a short demonstration for a children TV show about how to make a paper aeroplane. This will then lead to a TV show interviewing a person of our choice to follow the brief set.
My Role
I decided to be the director in our team as I fancied doing something a little more challenging. This meant that I would be up in the gallery cutting to all the different shots when our show was recording. I would also write the camera and studio script when we came to our main show.
Day of the show
We made paper aeroplanes to put on the flats that would make up or set and we also looked in the store cupboard to find some sort of bright material for the set. Here's what it looked like...
As you can see we used sky print material to make it seem as though it was 'flying' and then we went on with the show. I found it rather challenging at first to make sure I was cutting at the right time but when i got a hang of the buttons it seemed to be very easy and I enjoyed every minute of it. It taught me a lot about how a TV studio works and gave me a lot of confidence for our main show as I had already learned how to use everything so now I just needed to work on our research as a team to find the perfect interviewee!
